If summer had a sweet spot, it’d be August.
The routines are out the window, weekends somehow fill themselves up, and everyone seems to be chasing one more good meal, one more road trip, one more excuse to stay out a little longer.
Naturally, that changes what people reach for. Some products become beach bag staples. Others earn a permanent spot at the BBQ, the campsite, or the end-of-the-day wind-down.
Our budtenders see those patterns before anyone else. They’re the ones hearing what customers come back for, what friends recommend to each other, and what keeps finding its way back into shopping bags. These are the budtenders’ picks for August that kept making the rounds at VRC this month.
Consider this your August shortlist.

Lil DaVinci’s August Pick:
CAM’s CAM Pop

CAM Pop From CAM is a premium hybrid bred from Pop Rocks × Purple Push Pop, bringing together sweet candy, fruity terps, and a touch of creamy gas. The buds have incredible jar appeal with dense structure, deep purple hues, and a heavy coating of frosty trichomes. The aroma is loud and inviting, with notes of sweet berries, citrus candy, and a smooth gassy finish. A beautiful example of top tier genetics and quality flower. Definitely a great pick for summertime. 😎
Sincerely,
Lil DaVinci

Eric’s August Pick:
Connected’s Juici (Gelonade × Rainbow Sherbert)

Connected really hit the mark with Juici. The flower opens with a loud terpene profile that blends sweet citrus, ripe fruit, and creamy Sherbet notes, followed by just enough gas on the finish to keep it balanced. The smoke is clean, flavorful, and true to the aroma. It seems to be driven by a limonene-forward profile with β-caryophyllene, myrcene, and subtle linalool adding depth and a smooth, creamy finish.
The effects are what set this cultivar apart. It brought back the feeling I had the first time I smoked White Runtz — an immediate, full-spectrum cannabinoid experience with a noticeable head change, body relaxation, and that unmistakable top-shelf sensation that’s become harder to find in today’s market. It’s one of those strains where the quality of the experience stands out more than the THC percentage.
For consumers who appreciate modern candy genetics, Juici is an easy recommendation. It delivers the sweet, flavorful profile Runtz lovers expect while retaining enough gas and complexity to satisfy experienced smokers. This is a great example of a cultivar selected for terpene expression, flavor, and cannabinoid synergy rather than simply chasing potency, making it one of Connected’s stronger recent releases.

David’s August Pick:
CAM’s Octane 85

A great heavy-hitting hybrid with a good cross of Wedding Cake and Project 4516. It has a nice frosty trichome coated appearance.
Aroma: Strong diesel/gas notes with sweet grape, fruit, and earthy undertones. The effects you get from this flower are deep body relaxation and a fast cerebral euphoric high.
And just like that, August’s picks are in the books. Summer isn’t over yet, but it’s definitely entering its “don’t blink or you’ll miss it” era, and some of these favorites have a habit of disappearing just as fast.
