Dispensary Near Hardly Strictly Bluegrass: Why VRC Makes the Perfect Festival Pit-Stop

by | Sep 17, 2025

Hey Festival Fam!

So, you’re gearing up for Hardly Strictly Bluegrass? Good call. Every October, Golden Gate Park fills up with music, food, and about half the Bay Area spreading blankets on the grass. This year it’s October 3–5, 2025. And yes, it’s still free. That’s right: three full days of legends and rising stars, no ticket needed. Pretty sweet.

Now, before you head into the San Francisco traffic jungle, do yourself a favor: make VRC your pit-stop. We’re right off Highway 80 in Vallejo, easy in, easy out, and we’ll make sure you roll into the city stocked and smiling.

The Lineup = Stacked

Check this out:

  • Icons like Emmylou Harris, Jeff Tweedy, Rosanne Cash, Margo Price, Patty Griffin, Steve Earle, and The War and Treaty (SF Chronicle).
  • Fresh energy from Courtney Barnett, Samara Joy, Lucinda Williams, Sam Bush, Cimafunk, and Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats (SFGate).
  • Plus a special tribute to Emmylou Harris on October 2 at The Masonic (SF Chronicle).

That’s not just a lineup, that’s a weekend soundtrack.

Why Stop at VRC on the Way?

Here’s the deal: if you’re coming from Sacramento, Davis, Vacaville, Tahoe, or anywhere along I-80, you’re basically driving right past us. We’re not asking you to make a detour across town. It’s literally a hop off the freeway, grab what you need, and you’re back on the road.

And honestly, that’s the smart play. By the time you’re in San Francisco, parking is a nightmare, your stomach’s already rumbling, and the only “lineup” you’ll see is a mile-long one at the porta-potties. Save yourself the stress. Stock up first, then coast into the city ready for the good part.

How to Get Here (Because We Like to Keep It Simple)

  • Plug this in: 315 Henry Street, Vallejo, CA 94591.
  • Take I-80 West, hop off at Exit 31B, roll into Vallejo, and boom! You’re at VRC.
  • From here it’s about 40–45 minutes to Golden Gate Park if the traffic gods are kind.
  • Want more info on how to get to our dispensary right off highway 80? Check it out here.

Festival gates open 11 am Friday and 9 am Saturday and Sunday, music goes till 7:30 pm each night (Hardly Strictly Bluegrass). Translation: leave yourself time for that pit-stop and still snag a good spot on the lawn.

Pro Tips for Surviving Hardly Strictly

  • Blanket = lifesaver. You’ll thank yourself when you’re not sitting directly on the grass.
  • Layers are your best friend. Morning sun, afternoon fog, random chilly winds… San Francisco does costume changes too.
  • Hydrate. Seriously. Between the music, walking, and vibes, you’ll need it.
  • Go early. This festival is massive, and the best spots get claimed fast.

Did You Know?

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass 2025 banner with stars design, event dates October 3–5, 2025, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, California.
  • Hardly Strictly started back in 2001 as Strictly Bluegrass. Then the lineup started mixing in other genres, so they added the “Hardly.” Makes sense, right? (Wikipedia)
  • This year’s the 25th anniversary, which means the energy is going to be turned way up. Expect big crowds and even bigger memories.

Wrapping It Up: Pit-Stop Made Easy

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass is all about good vibes, free tunes, and hanging with your crew in Golden Gate Park. But let’s be honest, you don’t want to waste precious festival energy stressing about errands on the way. That’s where VRC comes in. We’re right off I-80 in Vallejo, perfectly placed for anyone rolling in from Sacramento, Tahoe, or beyond.

And here’s the pro move: order online before you hit the road. That way, your stash is packed up and ready when you roll through. Quick pit-stop, no lines, no waiting. Just grab, go, and get back on your way to the music. Easy, convenient, and very festival-friendly.

And hey, it’s not just Hardly Strictly. VRC is a clutch pit-stop for pretty much every major festival in California. From Outside Lands in San Francisco to BottleRock in Napa, Aftershock and Sol Blume in Sacramento, and even all the local Vallejo celebrations like Waterfront Weekend and the Mad Hatter Festival, travelers on Highway 80 roll right past our doors. No matter where the music takes you, VRC is the easy place to stock up before the party starts. Check out our full California Festivals Guide here.
