So, you’re gearing up for Hardly Strictly Bluegrass? Good call. Every October, Golden Gate Park fills up with music, food, and about half the Bay Area spreading blankets on the grass. From here it’s about 40–45 minutes to Golden Gate Park if the traffic gods are kind.

Festival gates open 11 am Friday and 9 am Saturday and Sunday, music goes till 7:30 pm each night (Hardly Strictly Bluegrass). Translation: leave yourself time for that pit-stop and still snag a good spot on the lawn.

Pro Tips for Surviving Hardly Strictly

Blanket = lifesaver. You’ll thank yourself when you’re not sitting directly on the grass.
Layers are your best friend. Morning sun, afternoon fog, random chilly winds… San Francisco does costume changes too.
